After pit bull attack woman grows hair on her nose

Trinity Rowles lost the tip of her nose in a dog attack. Parts of the scalp served as a substitute, which is why the hair is now growing on his nose.

Trinity Rowles, from Pennsylvania, was attacked by her father’s dog and bitten on various parts of her body. The 20-year-old was immediately taken to hospital after the attack. She has had four surgeries so far, but the young woman reportedly had as many as six more surgeries, reports the New York Post.

The operations left their mark. One in particular is hard to miss: Due to a skin transplant, Trinity is now growing nose hair. Pieces of skin from his forehead and scalp were used as a replacement for his severed nose.

“He was like a big teddy bear”

Trinity Rowles really knew her Irish forward, a pit bulldog mix, very well. “Irish was my dad’s dog that he rescued from the animal shelter. He had him for about five years and he was like a big teddy bear. He was so adorable and very soft. I used to go up to him and even have a downfall to keep an eye on him when my dad wasn’t in town,” she explained.

The attack was therefore very unexpected. It was triggered-or so it is suspected-by an argument between Trinity and her father. As this created a “heated atmosphere”, the Irishman suddenly attacked and bit. Her father tried to protect her by putting her in the fetus position – but the dog kept biting.

“As if my arm were a toy”

“He grabbed my arm and started playing tug of war with it – as if my arm were a toy – and dragged it across the yard,” Rowles recalled. “Then all of a sudden, like the push of a button, Irish just walked away and sat down on the porch steps.”

The attack only lasted a few minutes, but for the 20-year-old it felt like the longest time of her life. “I knew I was being attacked and bitten, but only to a point. I felt the pain but had no idea the extent of the injuries,” Rowles said.

serious consequences

The young woman suffered injuries to her face, ears and arm. In particular, the injuries and operations on her face left a lasting impression—not just physically. “I’m not sleeping well because of my flashbacks and now I’m terribly afraid of dogs. I take medication and go to therapy to deal with my post-traumatic stress disorder,” she explains.

However, she is happy that she survived the attack. “A near-death experience changed my perspective on life and I am so grateful to be here because it could have been so much worse,” said Trinity.
