Paul Mescal showed off his edgy sense of style as he arrived at the 2023 Film Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, California on Saturday.
The Irish actor, 27, wore a turquoise jacket with broad shoulders and large lapels over a white plunging top.
He was wearing baggy black pants, which he paired with a pair of pointy-toe shoes of the same color.
He looked relaxed as he posed with his hands in his pockets ahead of the ceremony.
The movie star is nominated for Best Actor for his role as Calum in Aftersun.

It comes after Paul attended the 2023 Film Independent Spirit Awards Nominees’ Brunch in Santa Monica last month.
Paul was among the stars recently nominated for Top Gong at this year’s Olivier Theater Awards in the UK.
He is nominated for Best Actor for his role in the new stage adaptation of A Streetcar Named Desire. Paul is a first-time candidate.
Paul will face off against David Tennant for Good, Tom Hollander for Patriots, Rafe Spall for To Kill A Mockingbird and Giles Terera for Blues For An Alabama Sky.
The star recently slammed a “creepy” fan for fondling his butt when he agreed to take a picture with her.
While he found most encounters with his admirers “really nice,” there were instances when he felt uncomfortable.
He recounted a recent experience when a woman asked for his photo outside the Almeida Theater in London, where he was starring in a production of A Streetcar Named Desire.
He recalled to ES Magazine: “When we posed for it, she put her hand on my butt.

“I thought it was an accident, so I like it [moved away] but the hand followed. I remember tensing up and just feeling angry.
“I turned to her and said, ‘What are you doing? Take your hand off my ass.”
“The last thing I want to do is call someone outside the theater – it’s awkward for everyone involved – but it really wasn’t okay. It was so gross, creepy.

Paul became a household name when he starred as Connell in the 2020 TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s novel Normal People, and he admitted he found the attention “a bit insulting” and uncomfortable at being seen as a heartthrob.
He said: “Like I had this woman who said she had a nude picture of me, a screenshot from the show, as her phone wallpaper. And it was mad at me — like she wouldn’t do it to be arson, I think she really tried to tell me she was a huge fan, but it just felt really weird. I do not want it.
“When ‘Normal People’ came out, the attention was a bit insulting.
“It was like, ‘This is fucking crazy.’ I’m a little more comfortable with it now.
