Kiss hires a Vancouver biomedical company to prevent COVID-19

The band Kiss members reportedly used a preventative treatment developed by a biomedical company in British Columbia to avoid contracting COVID-19, thereby minimizing the risk of their farewell tour being canceled.

The band and their entourage reportedly turned to Vancouver-based Ondine Biomedical after vocalist Paul Stanley contracted the coronavirus disease. This Canadian company offers a nasal disinfectant liquid that is activated by lights attached to probes. This process would kill viruses hidden in the respiratory system.

This technique has been used in Canadian hospitals for several years to reduce infections in patients undergoing surgery and would reduce the length of hospital stays, readmissions and use of antibiotics.

The results of a small medical study published last January reportedly found that the treatment reduced COVID-19 infections and slowed the progression of symptoms in those who had the virus, the National Post reported Monday.

The four Kiss members were reportedly given Ondine Biomedical’s ‘nasal photodisinfection’ and broad spectrum antimicrobial device as a preventive measure.
