The outraged family

The court’s decision to only charge Stéphanie Brossoit with manslaughter has shocked some family members who are hoping for an exemplary sentence for this heinous crime.

It should be noted that Stéphanie Brossoit’s mother had herself reported her granddaughter to the Direction de la Protection de la Jeunesse, but the file was subsequently closed.

The little victim’s aunt, Manuela Pires, who spoke to the media as they exited the courtroom, was heartbroken.

Now all parents can kill and what, she’ll be six, seven years old? A reduced penalty, she’ll be fine. what about us We are the victims, the grandmother, the father…” Ms. Pires brought to the market on the verge of tears.

“It doesn’t make sense… All parents are going to kill their child now and they can get away with it? »

It’s definitely something emotional. The death of a child is always a tragedy, regardless of the circumstances. Even more so when the circumstances involved are violent, so their reaction is perfectly normal, commented Me Simon Lapierre, Criminal and Criminal Prosecutor.

The ban on the publication of the identity of the victim, Maélie Brossoit-Nogueira, was lifted by the court at the request of the child’s father. This also enables us to publicly identify the mother of the child.
