Just weeks after Bam Margera’s estranged wife Nikki Boyd filed for legal separation from the ailing Jackass star, he’s found himself in even more legal trouble.

The 43-year-old skateboarder and stuntman was arrested last Thursday after San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in Escondido, California.

The woman claimed Margera kicked her, and he was arrested around 5:30 a.m., according to TMZ.

The victim is not Margera’s estranged wife, Nikki Boyd, but his current girlfriend, who has not yet been identified.

Bam was charged at Vista Detention Center with “assaulting a current or former spouse, domestic partner, dating partner, or co-parent.”

Law enforcement sources say the unidentified woman told police her “husband” kicked her, but sources claim the victim was his current girlfriend and not Boyd.

Margera posted $50,000 bail and was released. A spokesman for the district attorney’s office said it would not be filing charges from its office, although it is unclear if charges will be filed elsewhere.

The news comes just weeks after Margera’s ex, Nikki Boyd, filed for a legal separation on February 14, though she gave the separation date as September 2021, citing irreconcilable differences.

“Nikki Margera felt compelled to seek legal separation from her husband, Bam Margera, due to his ongoing drug and alcohol abuse, erratic behavior, and failure to support her and her son,” Nikki’s attorney, David Glass, said in a statement People.

“Nikki went above and beyond to get Bam to stay sober and try to save her family,” Glass added.

Boyd has asked for legal and physical custody of their five-year-old son, Phoenix, with Margera allowing supervised visits on condition they take place in LA County, provided he pays the expenses.

She is also said to be seeking spousal support, and she claimed the reason for the split was because she believed he was under the influence while spending time with her son.

Margera was in and out of rehab multiple times before his estranged wife filed papers, and many of his fans, who have followed his career and his antics for years, served up a tough love on his Instagram post.

One wrote a lengthy statement that included: “Stop pointing fingers at everyone else for your own behavior. It won’t help you in the long run, bam. You have to take responsibility to become the man you can be.”

Another statement followed with the following exhortation: “Choose sobriety and choose to take the steps that will help you keep it for yourself and for your son first. (If you want to be a gift, a loving father is what you want).’

Bam replied to Nikki’s submission on Instagram, along with a photo of him with their son.

“I am very disappointed in what Nikki and her attorney have said publicly about me as a father. I love my son more than anything in this world,” Margera wrote.

“I actually supported my son. Nobody knows my side of the story, which makes me sad. But one day, hopefully, they will,” he concluded.

Margera had celebrated a year sober in May 2022, despite being reported missing after escaping his rehab center in June, and he was caught in an Atlanta bar in September after escaping rehab again.

He was also hospitalized in December and put on a ventilator for a combination of pneumonia and COVID-19.

Margera revealed on Steve-O’s Wild Ride podcast that he suffered five seizures during his time in the hospital.
