Makeup artist reveals the rudest Australian celebrity she’s ever worked with

High-profile makeup artist Ashlee Day has opened up about her nightmarish encounter with an Australian celebrity, whom she described as the “rudest” in the business.

Ashlee claimed the star, who she didn’t name, refused to speak to her while she was doing her makeup and then “yelled” at her for getting it wrong.

The beauty influencer was 19 at the time and just starting out in the makeup industry, so the incident was understandably shocked.

Though she didn’t identify the celebrity, Ashlee said she worked for nothing that day and had to reapply the star’s makeup after refusing her first look.

Ashlee, who has 750,000 followers on TikTok, revealed that she left the job on the verge of tears and cried all the way home.

“I freaked out because I’m 19 and this girl was a big celebrity at the time … she gets up out of her chair and says, ‘Oh honey, that’s not what I wanted at all,'” Ashlee said.

After taking off the star’s makeup and starting over, Ashlee said the woman refused to speak to her and gave her no instructions regarding the makeup look she was going for.

Ashlee kept asking, “Babe, do you like the way your makeup looks?” but the mystery celebrity refused to answer.

“I didn’t say ‘babe’, I said her name. She still hasn’t answered me. I stood there like, “WTF, I’m just gonna fuck myself,” she continued.

“Her manager came over and said it was ‘perfect baby’ and I still had 15 minutes to finish.

“I got in my car and literally cried. That was so painful. I haven’t been paid. I have never uploaded anything to my Instagram. I was promised respect and an Instagram story and got nothing.

“I finished the makeup and she says to me, ‘I really don’t like my makeup.’ I said, ‘Well you didn’t tell me what you wanted.’ I’m kidding, I didn’t say that, I literally buckled [because I] was 19 and nervous.’

Ashlee said she was then told to leave by the celebrity’s manager.

“She said she doesn’t like the blush … but that’s my style,” she added.

“You must have liked my work [to book me]. She went back to the dressing room and fixed everything herself and the manager told me to leave.

“I almost burst into tears when people yelled at a 19-year-old. The moral of the story is don’t do anything for free. You are crazy!’ she closed.

Ashlee’s followers were soon trying to guess which celebrity she was referring to.

Some speculated it was Jessika Power or Martha Kalifatidis while others thought it was Abbie Chatfield. Chron Australia does not suggest it is any of those people.

However, one user pointed out that Abbie and Ashlee follow each other on Instagram.

‘Must be Abbie Chatfield. She was on The Bachelor in 2019 when Ash was 19. She never wears winged eyeliner. The way Ash described the person speaking is exactly how Abbie speaks, especially with all the ‘baby’ talk,” one fan commented.

“Ash only follows 153 people and one of them is Abbie. I don’t think she would still follow Abbie for treating her like that,” replied another.

“It’s supposed to be Jessika Power,” a third follower wrote, while a fourth suggested it could be Big Brother’s Skye Wheatley.
