- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told CNN on Tuesday that his forces were determined to remain in Bakhmout to defend the city., epicenter of deadly fighting for months. “We understand that after Bakhmout [les Russes] could go further. They could go to Kramatorsk, they could go to Sloviansk, the way would be free (…) to other cities in Ukraine,” he said.

- Residents of Kherson and the region are being asked by the civil authorities and the regional military administration to leave the region, while Russian troops continue shelling residential areas. On Monday alone, nearly 360 projectiles hit the area, damaging homes and apartment buildings and injuring four people, according to the city council.
- Ukraine has called for international efforts to keep the Black Sea sea lanes open used to transport millions of tons of grain to African countries. According to Kyiv, 2.7 million tons of grain have been shipped since November, when Kyiv launched its “Grain from Ukraine” program, mostly for poorer African countries.
