Amber Heard has less than 10 minutes of screen time in Aquaman sequel

According to a film journalist, Amber Heard will reportedly have less than ten minutes of screen time in the upcoming Aquaman sequel.

The 36-year-old actress, who stars as Mera in the franchise, is currently embroiled in a multi-million dollar defamation lawsuit with her former partner Johnny Depp.

Film journalist Grace Randolph, known for comic book film scoops, has claimed fans won’t be seeing as much of her in the sequel Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, due out in March 2023.

Claims about her reduced screen time come after a petition calling for her to be removed from the film garnered two million signatures.

It’s unknown if Amber’s role in the sequel was always going to be small, or if her screen time was cut short in the wake of her legal battle with Johnny Depp.

MailOnline has reached out to representatives from Warner Bros. and Amber Heard for comment.

Johnny was dropped by Disney in his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 5 after Amber claimed he domestically abused her, which she denies.

Now more than two million people have signed a petition urging Amber to lose her role as Princess Mera in Aquaman after it was revealed she had allegedly abused the actor in her own country.

Johnny told the court this week he was shocked when Disney pulled him from the franchise four days after publishing an op-ed by Amber in which she said she was a victim of domestic violence without naming him.

Jeanne Larson, who started the petition, said Amber “has been exposed as domestic violence” and canceling her appearance in Aquaman 2 would prevent her alleged abuse from being glamorized.

She said: “Amber Heard was exposed as a domestic abuser by Johnny Depp.

“In his lawsuit, Johnny Depp details many instances of domestic violence he suffered at the hands of his (then) wife, Amber Heard, including one incident in which she slapped him twice in the face and another in which she punched him with a vodka bottle shattered the finger, and his finger had to be surgically reattached.

“He will carry the scar of that for the rest of his life.

“Additionally, in 2009, Amber Heard was arrested for molesting a former partner, Tasya Van Ree, demonstrating a repeat pattern of abuse by Amber Heard.

“Since Heard’s divorce from Johnny Depp, she has systematically crusaded to ruin Depp in Hollywood, repeating multiple reports of fake incidents in which she did in fact abuse Johnny Depp but lied and made false reports about him being the abuser.” was.

“You must not ignore the suffering of Heard’s victims and you must not glorify a domestic abuser.

“Men are victims of domestic violence, just like women. This must be recognized and action must be taken to prevent a known abuser from being celebrated in the entertainment industry.

‘Do the right thing. Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2.’

Meanwhile, a former agent of Johnny’s testified Wednesday that Amber’s abuse allegations had a “traumatic impact” on Johnny’s image and cost him the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Christian Carino, a talent agent with Creative Artists Agency, appeared via video interrogation at Johnny’s defamation trial, which began April 11 in Fairfax, Virginia.

According to his contract, which was presented as evidence during the defamation trial, Johnny earned $25 million for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean.

Carino testified that through discussions with producer Jerry Bruckheimer and CAA co-chairman Bryan Lourd, it became clear that Disney had decided not to continue working with Johnny.

Carino said the abuse allegations were never openly discussed as a cause, but were simply “understood” within the industry.

Carino was friends with both Amber and Johnny and represented them both in various positions, although he has said he is no longer in a relationship with either of them.

He testified that Johnny is “one of the finest actors of his generation,” and that hasn’t changed despite the turmoil in his life in recent years. But he also said the lawsuits — involving his former executive, his former attorney and with Amber — have damaged Johnny’s off-screen image.

“I think what he was known for off-screen was a veil of mystery about who he was because he wasn’t visible to the public,” Carino said. “It changed with the disclosure that accompanied the trials.”

Carino was asked about the production of the fifth Pirates movie in 2015 and admitted that Depp was regularly late to set.

“I’m aware he’s late, but he’s been late for everything his entire life,” Carino said, adding that the production figured out a way around the problem.

Carino was vague when Disney decided not to hire Depp for a potential sixth “Pirate” movie that remains in limbo, initially saying he couldn’t even give the year it took place.

The timing of that decision is a key issue in the case. Johnny’s lawyers allege that this happened just days after Heard published a December 18, 2018 comment in which she described herself as a “public figure who represents domestic violence.”

Amber’s attorneys argue that the decision was actually made earlier.

Johnny’s attorneys presented Carino with a December 20, 2018 chain of emails in which Depp’s agents and publicists passed around a MovieWeb article stating that Depp would not be returning to the franchise.

Carino wrote, “Have we been officially notified of this by Disney?”

Jack Whigham, another agent, replied, “No.”

On Monday, Johnny told the court he was surprised and “betrayed” that Disney dumped him after Heard’s allegations in The Washington Post.

He said, “I didn’t quite understand how, after this long relationship and a fairly successful relationship for Disney, I suddenly found myself guilty until proven innocent.”

But Johnny said he was ultimately mad at Disney and felt there was “a very deep and clear sense of having been betrayed”.

Amber first raised her allegations in May 2016 when she filed for divorce and sought a restraining order.

The restraining order was later lifted and the couple issued a joint statement, explaining that neither had made false claims of financial gain.

Earlier Wednesday, the jury saw video testimony featuring two LAPD officers and a front desk clerk who works at the Eastern Columbia Building, where Johnny used to own several penthouses.

Officers were called to the penthouses on May 21, 2016 over a domestic violence report.

Amber refused to give a report and officers said they saw no signs of injury.
