A few days before his first fight in Quebec since 2018, boxer Jean Pascal showed his usual self-confidence during his appearance on the show “Le monde à l’envers”.
Pascal, 40, will cross swords with German Michael Eifert, 25, on March 16 at the Place Bell. That big age difference doesn’t deter the former WBA light heavyweight champion.
“I am very confident. I am a young 40 year old. “Blacks don’t crack,” he started, the tone laughing.
In 2021, Pascal failed a doping test, which resulted in the loss of his title and a six-month ban. He was also arrested for drunk driving last November, but he still denies his wrongdoing.
“I know myself very well. We like to pin the controversy on Jean Pascal, but I’m very simple and I’m a good person, he appreciated while questioning the legitimacy of the police report incriminating him.
“It doesn’t appear on TV, but I’m a very humble person. I’ve got both feet on the ground but my head in the clouds,” he added.
Pascal hopes to look good against Eifert and restore his image, especially to make his 20-year-old daughter proud.
“My daughter doesn’t like my job but she’s my biggest fan. I’m a single parent (…) and she’s always in my struggles.
