Pope Francis celebrates ten years of pontificate with the launch of his first podcast. “It pains me to see the dead young people – whether on the Russian or Ukrainian side, I don’t care – who do not return home. It is difficult to accept this,” said the Pope, who is celebrating his pontificate anniversary by wishing peace in the world. . “Peace, we need peace,” said the Holy Father.
In the podcast, the Pope talks about himself and the challenges of his office. The podcast, already dubbed the “Popecast” in the Vatican, is an interview with Vatican News journalist Salvatore Cernuzio. In it, the Pope recounts the most important stages of his pontificate.
“The first thing that comes to mind is that it feels like my papal election was yesterday…” said Francis, who asked earlier in the interview: “A podcast? What is that?”
Of the thousands of audiences, the hundreds of visits to dioceses and parishes and the 40 apostolic journeys, the Pope keeps “clear memories in his heart”. He described it as “the most beautiful moment”. He fondly recalls the audience with grandparents around the world on September 28, 2014. “The old people are wise and help me a lot. I too am old”, said the Pope.
