“She didn’t deserve it”: A woman found dead with traces of violence in Lanaudière

The family of a woman found dead in Lanaudière on Monday night believes in the murder theory, while the Sûreté du Québec considers her death “suspicious”.

“It saw off all our legs. We don’t understand that,” Stéphanie Cherhal said on the phone.

His older sister, Nathalie Cherhal, was found dead by Sûreté du Québec (SQ) police officers at around 7 p.m. Monday evening in an apartment building in Saint-Zénon, north of Lanaudière.

“The circumstances of this death need to be clarified and witnesses called,” said the police, who described the death as “suspicious”.

Nathalie Cherhal, 53, worked as a beneficiary supervisor.

signs of violence

“We know that it was the neighbors who noticed that nothing had moved in the house for two days,” explained Stéphanie Cherhal. They went to see.”

She claims the police officers who met her told her it was a murder and her sister’s body showed signs of violence around her neck.

“She [les policiers] found that it had been there for several days and that it had markings, [comme] neck cracks.”

“It could be a strangulation. They don’t have any more information. That’s all we know,” the victim’s sister continues.

It is the service investigating the crimes against the person of the SQ that has to clear up this affair. The forensic investigation service was there to try to shed light on this tragedy.

“She didn’t deserve this”

According to her sister, Nathalie Cherhal “didn’t have an easy life” in life and stopped speaking to many of her relatives.

The victim would also have a history of being a victim of domestic violence.

“We know she had limitations about her ex-spouse that she shouldn’t have seen,” continues Stéphanie Cherhal.

Stéphanie Cherhal hopes that this tragedy affecting her family will be solved.

“I want to understand why the person did this, especially since we don’t yet know how. She didn’t deserve that.”
