A man killed his granddaughter at dawn in Vialonga, Vila Franca de Xira, Portugal. When the fire brigade arrived for little Lara, there was nothing they could do.

The report of the crime was apparently given at 4:16 am by the girl’s mother, who had returned home at that moment and was faced with the tragic scene. The death had occurred a few hours earlier, when the Vialonga fire department arrived at the scene, the seven-year-old girl was lying on her mother’s lap, the blood already dried, as explained by JN Francisco Marques, deputy commander of the patrol.

The grandfather who would have been the perpetrator of the murder, attempting to kill himself with the same bladed weapon that killed his granddaughter. However, firefighters managed to revive him and he was transported alive to Santa Maria Hospital.

At the moment, the criminal investigation department is dealing with the case in order to determine the causes that led to this family tragedy.
