Danny Dyer returns to the small screen with a major new documentary series.
The actor and presenter, whose final scenes aired as Mick Carter in EastEnders at Christmas, has been busy filming a two-part Channel 4 series called 21st Century Man.
The Sun reports that in the film Danny will examine what it means to be a man in modern Britain by examining issues such as toxic masculinity, gender roles and men’s mental health.
Danny previously presented the popular Bravo documentaries The Real Football and Danny Dyers Deadliest Men.

A show insider said of his new Channel 4 project: “This will be new territory for Danny and viewers will see a whole new side of him.
“He will still possess his usual bravery but these are serious issues that he is investigating and he is acting accordingly. The look into toxic masculinity is particularly deep. It is an extremely sensitive documentary all round.”
The star is believed to have filmed scenes involving both male and female victims of domestic violence and headed to a soft play center to meet families affected by trauma.
The documentary will air on Channel 4 later this year. Web has reached out to Channel 4 for comment.
Danny has thrown himself back into work since ending his decade-long stint at EastEnders.
He’s presenting a new game show on Netflix titled Cheat while also completing work on Channel 5 thriller Heat.
Filmed in Victoria, Australia last year, Heat follows two long-time friends visiting a remote home for a summer holiday during Australia’s bushfire season.
As well as the four-part action thriller, Danny has signed on to host a travel show for E4 with his Love Island co-star Dani Dyer.
The actor’s final scenes as Mick Carter aired on Christmas Day and saw the Queen Vic landlord mysteriously lost at sea after falling into the water to rescue his estranged wife Linda.
Danny has revealed he could return to Albert Square in a few years if his career takes off and joked he would arrive in Walford “covered in seaweed” after a salty exit.
The soap actor added that he “misses” many of the stars he worked with on the show and he “loves them very much.”
