There North Korea started a long-range ballistic missile towards the Sea of Japan. This was reported by the South Korean General Staff, stating that they spotted the launch from the Sunan area of Pyongyang. Earlier, the armed forces in Seoul had reported the launch of an unidentified ballistic missile. North Korea launched a supposedly Hwasong-15 ICBM on February 18.

Meanwhile, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has landed in Tokyo, giving the go-ahead
first official visit by a South Korean President to Japan now for 12 years. Yoon, who took office in May last year, has sought to improve ties with Japan while strengthening military cooperation with the United States. The talks focused on the security and stability of the Asia-Pacific region.
