The death toll in a fire that broke out today at the headquarters of the Russian Security Services (FSB) border guard in Rostov, capital of the region of the same name bordering Ukraine, is one dead and two injured. This was announced by the emergency services, citing the TASS.
Some witnesses cited by Telegram channels said they heard an explosion before the flames erupted, a detail confirmed by emergency services, according to local media.
The cause of the fire was a short circuit in the internal electrical system: this was announced by the governor of the region Vasily Golubev on his Telegram channel, as reported by Tass. “According to preliminary results, the fire was caused by a short circuit in the internal electrical wiring. The spread of fire caused tanks of fuel and lubricants to explode,” Golubev wrote, adding that two walls collapsed.
