With her hoodie wrapped around her waist, it was clear she’d worked up a sweat at the gym.

It comes after she enjoyed a brief break to visit her husband Wayne in Washington DC.

The former soccer player, 37, has spent much time in the United States since taking the job of manager of Major League Soccer team DC United.

And taking to Instagram, Wayne shared a sweet selfie of himself and his WAG, 36, while in the sun together.

The couple could be seen beaming as they enjoyed some sights in America.

Coleen dressed warmly, opting for a beige coat and a black turtleneck. She added brown sunglasses and styled her brown locks straight.

Meanwhile, Wayne wore a black padded coat and a black New York Yankees cap.

Wayne shared the selfie with his followers and wrote, “Great week with @coleenrooney”.

Despite Wayne’s commitment to be in Washington, Coleen has previously told friends that she hates America and would not move there.

A source close to Coleen told Web: “She has made her views clear to Wayne. There’s no way she’ll want to go to Washington. She absolutely hated it last time there.

“She doesn’t want to live outside the North West of England, let alone live in Washington again. The family is more sedentary than ever. They have four children who are all in school and all of Coleen’s family lives close by.”

The source added, “There’s no way she would want to give it all up to live in a place she hates.”

Despite this, the pair are said to have never been “more together” before Wayne’s official move to the American club in July – particularly after the way he publicly supported her during Wagatha Christie’s £3million defamation trial of Rebekah Vardy .

One said: “Wayne and Coleen’s relationship is the best it’s been in a long time. He supported her 100 percent during the defamation trial, appeared in court every day, and stood by his wife.

“They have just enjoyed a wonderful summer break with the kids, the longest in ages given Wayne’s football commitments in the past. As a couple and family, they have never been happier and more united.”

Coleen’s dislike of the US capital was evident in leaked 2018 text messages sent to Vardy during the Wagatha Christie defamation trial.

In response to Vardy’s question about how things were going, the Liverpool native replied: “Hiya hope you have all week [well]. We’re fine, but it’s difficult to be alone.

Coleen continued, “Washington isn’t the best… nice to visit but different to live. Not much to do for the kids, mostly parking, hardly any softplays and the like. It’s quite behind the UK which I never thought it would be. But we will get used to it (I hope). “Wayne loves it and the kids are fine, they settled into the school straight away. So really happy that they are doing well. Thanks for the message, dear xx.’

In a separate message, she admitted she “never believed in homesickness” until she left the UK, adding that she “cried every night” because she missed her family back home.
