Quebecor’s President and CEO, Pierre Karl Péladeau, highlighted his work, particularly at the Éléphant Cinéma Québec, by sharing a photo on Twitter in which he is accompanied by Claude Fournier and his wife Marie-Josée Raymond.

“Claude Fournier made our culture, our cinema, his passion and the center of his commitment,” he wrote, offering his condolences to those close to the filmmaker.

“I really liked Claude Fournier, who is leaving us,” said PQ MP Pascal Bérubé, referring to the works that shaped him.

Montreal City Councilman Serge Sasseville arrived there with a feel-good text on his friend’s farewell. “Rest in peace my dear Claude. I will never forget you. Thank you for your friendship, your collaboration, your passion and for everything you’ve done to advance our culture,” he said on Facebook.
