March madness: Joe Biden’s pick to win NCAA tournament, top-seeded Arizona angered by Princeton

Biden’s clip broken! Presidential pick to win the NCAA tournament, 2nd-seeded Arizona suffers a first-round loss to 15-seeded Princeton

President Joe Biden was one of the many college basketball fans whose March Madness bracket was busted after Princeton’s upset of second-ranked Arizona.

Biden had picked Arizona to win the national championship in his group, and now that they’ve been sent home, it’s unlikely Biden will have a chance to win any White House March Madness pools he may have attended .

Princeton came on as a 15-point underdog but ended up winning the game 59-55.

Arizona was just a point up at halftime, 31-30, but the Wildcats only managed 24 points while falling out in the second half.

Princeton now plays 7th seed Missouri in the next round of the NCAA tournament.

Biden wasn’t the only member of the White House to enjoy some college basketball Thursday when Vice President Kamala Harris was booed as she watched her alma mater, legendary HBCU Howard University, be destroyed by Kansas 96-68.

“I mean, here we are in Des Moines. And they’re having a tough time, they work hard, they’re so disciplined and it’s a joy to see them here in March Madness,” Harris said of Howard’s men’s basketball team in the second half. “So many of us who are here, we love our school.”

“And at Howard University, I was running for my first office as a freshman class representative and I’ve always been a part of the Howard community.

“And I’m sure anyone who has a team understands what it means and the joy and commitment that we have in the traditions and loyalty to your team.”

When the Vice President was shown on the arena’s jumbotron, boos drowned out the applause she received. Audience demographics may have played a role in his reaction to seeing the former California Senator on the arena’s video board.

More than half of voters in Iowa, where the game took place (53.1 percent), voted for Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election, compared to 44.9 percent of the vote for Joe Biden.
