Better looking, longer and more fascinating, Octopath Traveler II does everything better than its predecessor.

Based on its experience with the eponymous cult “Octopath Traveler”, the Japanese studio Acquire has provided the cover for a second part, which is even better than the first. In a completely new storyline unrelated to the first part, this episode features eight characters with different origins and abilities. Their destinies intertwine on the continent of Solistia, where different cultures live side by side in an era of technological and industrial development.

The game keeps its turn-based combat system and fabulous art direction, mixing 2D and 3D graphics in pixel art with the most beautiful effects. Without revolutionizing a perfectly mastered formula, this title allows itself to go even further in the different stories offered. We would simply have wished for more novelty in the brawls, even if the latter remain noticeable and require a minimum of strategy. If this second work is a complete success, it will be necessary to raise the bar next time or tire the fans of the franchise.

All media. Acquire. Solo.

Pegi age: 12 years.
