American R&B star Jason Derulo was announced as The Voice Australia’s new coach on Sunday … and some fans aren’t happy about it.
Angry viewers took to The Voice’s Instagram page to voice their concerns about Jason, 33, replacing local country music star Keith Urban, 55, on the judging panel.
“I’d like to watch with people who are more relevant to Australia,” commented an angry viewer.
“This is the end of The Voice for me,” wrote another, while a third said Jason would not give a good judgement, as “his voice is always auto-tuned”.
However, other viewers praised Channel Seven for bringing a global superstar to the show.

The pop sensation says he’s on the hunt for the next global superstar.
Derulo has joined the Channel Seven hit as a replacement for fan favorite Keith Urban, who left the show as coach at the end of last season.

“I will bring a global perspective,” said Derulo, explaining his game plan in an interview with The Sunday Telegraph.
“These are obviously musicians from Australia, but the way the music industry has changed, there are no rules anymore.”
“I think more than ever the lines are blurring, so there’s an opportunity for a world star to come out of that,” he said.
Former coach Keith said he left The Voice because he wanted to spend time with his family and tour Australia.
He told The Daily Telegraph in October he was trying to balance his schedule with wife Nicole Kidman so they could take their children to visit their grandparents and extended family over the Christmas holidays.
