“The fact is, I’m sick. Maybe die,” the actor wrote in the first chapter of his memoir.
In the interview, the one best known for his role in the popular franchise Jurassic Park, showed stage 3 blood cancer. He wrote his biography while receiving chemotherapy.
“I can’t pretend there haven’t been any dark times this past year,” he revealed of his cancer; Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, which he was diagnosed in 2022.
“But these dark times bring the light to light […] and made me thankful for every day and infinitely grateful for all my friends. I’m just happy to be alive,” he added.
Neill said he is in remission but will need to continue treatment until the end of his life.
The actor spends most of his time on his farm in New Zealand. Did I Ever Tell You This?, will be available in stores Tuesday.
