A passenger’s abuse of rights lawsuit has been filed at Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans, USA, after an investigation revealed that employees of thirdparty airlines threw away their personal belongings.

According to passenger Keyonne Brooks’ report and security camera footage, he left a bag at the Spirit Airlines gate counter on February 19 while returning to Los Angeles from his uncle’s funeral in New Orleans.

He forgot

According to American media, Brooks said he had a disagreement with a company agent about checking his carryon luggage, which caught his attention, resulting in the item being forgotten. The case was reviewed after the man filed a “Lost and Found” report and was stunned to learn his belongings had been thrown in the trash.

Spirit Airlines told Los Angelesbased KCALTV News that the workers involved have been suspended pending an investigation and that they are expediting compensation for Brooks’ property. However, the man claims that is not the case.

Brooks says his medication was thrown away, as were his house and car keys, preventing him from entering the house and starting the car immediately when he arrived in Los Angeles. He also says that in the luggage was a very sentimental family heirloom pendant. Of all this, he says, the airline and its subcontractors agree to pay only part of their loss.

Warren McKenna, Brooks’ attorney, said the airport responded very quickly to Brooks’ request for the video and allowed them to have the necessary evidence.

Keyonne Brooks said he couldn’t watch the entire video “because it’s too painful for him.” When asked if he would ever want to return to New Orleans, he replied, “Oh, I definitely want to return to New Orleans because my father and brothers live there, but I will certainly never take Spirit Airlines again.”
