Conference of Arab Parties Expresses Support for Syria

Damascus, March 20 (Prensa Latina) The participants of the 63rd Conference of Arab Parties, which ended today in Damascus, expressed their support and solidarity with Syria and its people in the face of the war, the blockade and the aftermath of the earthquakes.

In the closing statement of their meeting, representatives of Arab political parties and forces described as legendary Syria’s resilience in the face of the brutal attack it has faced since 2011 and attempts to undermine its stability, unity and sovereignty.

We support the unity of the territory and people of Syria and its independent national decision, and we believe that Damascus has the right to defend its country from occupation and terrorism, the text says.

The statement condemned the Israeli attacks and called for the withdrawal of foreign forces illegally present on that nation’s territory.

He also reiterated the firm rejection of the blockade and sanctions imposed on Syria, particularly the so-called Caesar Law, which remains in force despite the fact that Syria is facing the aftermath of a devastating earthquake.

They announced the adoption of April 17 each year, coinciding with the anniversary of the Syrian National Day, as the day on which the Syrian flags are raised at the Arab parties’ headquarters.

Likewise, those present reaffirmed their support for the Palestinian people and their opposition to Israel, and strongly condemned the crimes committed against the Palestinian people.

Important political figures and Arab partisans from Syria, Lebanon, Tunisia, Jordan, Sudan, Egypt, Palestine, Yemen, Bahrain, Algeria and Mauritania attended the extraordinary meeting of the General Secretariat of the Conference of Arab Parties, which met under the motto “Yes”. to Syrian unity and sovereignty, no to siege and aggression.
