A look at the winners and losers of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway:
WINNER
Joey Logano – Logano had won 31 Cup Series races when he competed in Sunday’s 400-mile race, but none had raced in Atlanta. He changed that stat column significantly, leading 140 laps and making a risky move around leader Brad Keselowski on the last lap to earn a record No. 32 win.
Brad Keselowski — Keselowski’s battle to bring RFK Racing back to the fore has taken many months, but he’s had impressive runs this year. He led 47 laps on Sunday and was close to victory.
Christopher Bell — With better organization from the Toyotas at the front, Bell would have had a chance to win. He finished third and finished inside the top six in four of the five races of the season.
Corey LaJoie — Sunday’s run for fourth place was LaJoie’s best in 205 Cup starts, and his smart start to the season is a hint that better things could be ahead.
LOSER
William Byron – Byron’s two-race winning streak ended with a – literally – thud on Sunday when he was involved in a multi-car crash and finished 32nd.
Kevin Harvick — From one moment to the next, Harvick dropped out of the race from first place. He lost control of his car in a close race with Ross Chastain and crashed into the wall. He turned 33.
Kyle Larson — Larson put up a good fight with the more dominant Fords in the top 10 for most of the day, but his car was damaged in a crash involving Aric Almirola. Larson parked and finished 31st.
