In an Instagram post, the ‘Die Hard’ star’s wife shared an update on his condition and how her family was celebrating his birthday.

Bruce Willis was diagnosed with aphasia in March 2022 and in February this year his family released a joint statement revealing that he has frontotemporal dementia.

Emma Heming told her followers that she has faced “grief” and “grief” every day since her husband’s diagnosis, but was particularly upset on his birthday.

“So today is my husband’s birthday,” she shared in her Instagram video. I started the morning crying as you can tell from my swollen eyes and snotty nose.

She continued, “I just think it’s important that you see all sides of it. I always get this message, or people always tell me, “Oh, you’re so strong. I don’t know how you do it.” I have no choice. I’d like to be, but I’m also raising two children with it.

Bruce Willis and Emma Heming have two daughters together, while the actor shares three now-grown daughters with ex-wife Demi Moore.

“Sometimes in our lives we have to be a big girl and move on, and I do,” she continued in her video. But I have moments of sadness every day, heartbreak every day… and I really feel it today on his birthday.”

Emma Heming concluded: “I’ve been working on this role which I’m posting for my husband’s birthday. I don’t know why I did this to myself because the videos are like a knife in my heart.”
