Ford just issued a series of recalls affecting several hundred thousand vehicles in North America, including nearly 90,000 in Canada.
Let’s start with the most severe issue affecting 35,398 2013-2018 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ sedans (excluding their hybrid versions). The manufacturer estimates that around 2% of them are at risk of rupturing their brake lines and leaking brake fluid, which would reduce the effectiveness of their braking system and increase the braking distance, i.e. the likelihood of an accident.
A dealer inspection is required on the recalled vehicles. As a precaution, Ford is replacing the front brake lines on all of them.
The largest recall in terms of units is just for the 2021 Ford F-150. We’re talking 51,336 pickups across the country. Here are wiper arms that may not have been manufactured properly and therefore do not clean the windshield properly.
Given the reduced visibility that could result in an accident, Ford needs to replace the wiper arms.

Three more recalls have been issued by the manufacturer in recent days, targeting two popular models, although the number of recalled units is minimal.
For example, 465 Maverick pickups equipped with the towing package are missing the electrical circuitry that controls the trailer’s taillights (dealers need to add one to the wiring harness), with 118 2021-2022 Broncos already having an update The backup camera needs a remote transmission get new ones, and then three 2023 Bronco Wildtraks may unexpectedly lock up the steering while driving.
In the latter case, Ford will contact owners to tell them to stop driving their vehicle and have it towed to a dealership to have the steering gear replaced.
