Montreal Stanislas College teacher arrested for multiple sex crimes

A teacher at a private Montreal college was arrested this morning over a series of sex crimes committed against students at the school in recent years.

Alexandre Gagné, a 48-year-old high school and college teacher at Stanislas College in Montreal, was arrested by the Montreal Police Department in Rosemont this morning.

Later in the day he will appear at the Montreal courthouse to face 15 charges including sexual assault, sexual interference, indecent behavior, distribution of sexually explicit material, baiting and supplying cannabis to a person under the age of 18.

He allegedly had multiple victims between November 2019 and last December, all from the school where he taught economics and social sciences.

This is the second time in a short period of time that a teacher at Stanislas College, part of the French school system in Montreal, has been tried for sex crimes against a minor.

In December 2019, Denis Tiffou, a former gym teacher, was sentenced to 10 months in prison for possession of child pornography.

Stanislas College has still not returned the journal’s appeals.

More details to come.
