PA Methot was at La Semaine des 4 Julie to talk about his comedy show make it nicebut also about the new reality TV he will host, trucker heart!
It was during his presence on the set of Julie Snyder that the comedian tells us amazing things, including his thoughts on the gala The olive trees and his health problems.
“PA, despite all your successes, all the Bell Centers (…) you never won an Olivier?” asks Julie, very surprised by this fact!
“No, in the first year. Look, we sold 307,000 tickets, we’re at 200,000 for this tour (…) But it didn’t work out,” the comedian replies.
“Katherine Levac pointed this out in La Presse!” Julie launched to PA!
“It touches me deeply. I have made the decision to withdraw from all of this. It really put too much pressure on me, me, the Oliviers and the performance (…) But the real reason for Julie is that I’m not going to get comfortable with it then, it’s with me to compete against people I like and over whose success I rejoice in is meaningless to me. For me personally, it’s useless!” says PA Méthot confidently.
“People like Jean-Michel Anctil, then Peter MacLeod who got me out of the shadows a bit, I can be nominated against them for something. I don’t feel like it, I just want to thank them until the end of this career. So for me, the Oliviers, I had it made,” adds the star.
Méthot also uses his visit to talk about his physical condition and the fact that he now has a pacemaker.
“I actually have a double shell defibrillator pacemaker (…) When I got to the hospital…it was a routine test that got me there. I had a dejection fraction, ie the proportion of blood that is injected from the heart, of 19%. 15% puts you on the list for a transplant,” the comedian says frankly.
He adds that he had no idea about this condition and thought he was just out of breath!
A surprising… and touching television moment.
