According to Apple, Cell phone call voice isolation prioritizes your voice and blocks out ambient noise around youwhich improves the call quality.
Apple isn’t the first to deploy such a feature on its phones, as Google had previously rolled out Clear Calling on its Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, which works in the same way. The good news is that Apple’s feature works for phone calls, but it also works for FaceTime.
Voice isolation will improve calls on iPhone
According to some beta testers who may have tried the feature, you can enable voice isolation by opening Control Center during a FaceTime call. The option is in “Mic Mode” and then in “Voice Isolation”.
Phone calls also benefit from better soundproofing. To do this, it is also sufficient to open the Control Center, press on Microphone mode and then select the “Standard” option.
It remains to be seen if this will prove as effective as Google’s solution already present in the Pixel 7 series. Don’t hesitate to let us know in the comments if you’ve already tried both. It is currently unclear when iOS 16.4 will be available to all iPhone owners or if the voice isolation feature will be available on all models compatible with the update or only on the newer ones.
Apple released the Release Candidate (RC) version of iOS 16.4 and iPad OS 16.4 for registered developers, so it shouldn’t be long before everyone arrives. Keep in mind that access to developer betas is now $99 per year for everyone. if it was free before. So it’s better to wait for the public betas or the stable versions if you want to try the new features without spending your money.
