Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, real name Daniel Hernandez, was hospitalized after being beaten Tuesday at a steam room in South Florida’s LA Fitness, police confirmed Wednesday.
“An altercation ensued between several individuals in which Daniel Hernandez was injured,” the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook on Wednesday. “Fortunately, his injuries are not life-threatening.”
The rapper, who sports rainbow-colored hair, suffered lacerations to his face, his attorney, Lance Lazzaro, told TMZ.
The sheriff’s office said the alleged assault occurred at the LA Fitness in Lake Worth, Florida.

Videos posted to multiple social media sites showed Hernandez on the gym bathroom floor as at least two men kicked him and grabbed his hair, CBS Miami reported.
6ix9ine was a social media phenomenon with millions of followers on Instagram before becoming a rising name in hip-hop.
He had a multi-platinum hit “Fefe” with Nicki Minaj, which peaked at #3 on the pop chart, and “Stoopid” with then-incarcerated rapper Bobby Shmurda.
Lazzaro told TMZ that 6ix9ine, who had no personal security with him, tried to fight back during the attack but was overpowered and outnumbered.
The rapper was released early from federal prison after colluding with law enforcement officials to prosecute other gang members, CBS Miami says.
