Just five months before he slid into a gate in wet weather, Dick Van Dyke wished it would rain.
The “Mary Poppins” star was seen lamenting the drought in Los Angeles in October.
“Will it ever rain?” asked Van Dyke, 97, as he backed his Lexus out of a parking space in video obtained by The Post.
The beloved performer’s feelings were an eerie foreshadowing of his tragic driving accident on Wednesday, when he skidded on a wet road and his car crashed into a gate in Malibu.
Paramedics treated the veteran actor at the scene, who suffered a possible concussion and a bloody mouth and nose.
Although drugs and alcohol are not believed to be involved, officers reportedly asked Van Dyke to retake his driver’s test with the California Department of Motor Vehicles.

He was pictured in the same car involved in Wednesday’s accident, when he was seen visiting his favorite charity and distributing money to the homeless in October.
The Post has reached out to Van Dyke representatives for comment.
However, his latest bump on the road seems insignificant compared to a major car fire Van Dyke was involved in a decade ago.
In 2013, the screen star was snapped out of an inferno that engulfed his Jaguar as he drove down the freeway.
While driving, the actor noticed smoke coming from his car and immediately stopped.
A Good Samaritan pulled him out of the vehicle just before it burst into flames.
“It just started making noises and at first I thought I had a flat tire, then it started smoking, then it burned crispy,” he told TMZ at the time.

Despite his recent accident, Van Dyke still appears to be in high spirits given his frail appearance.
In February, he appeared as “Gnome” on Season 9 of The Masked Singer, which was hailed as the “greatest reveal of all time.”
His performance was just one of a handful of public appearances the aging star has made in recent years.
In June 2022, he was seen leaving lunch with his friends, telling viewers he was “just glad to still be here”.
