Although the 23-year-old model is currently happy and healthy, the illnesses she suffered during her childhood and adolescence made her existence difficult.
Nadia Ferreira shared what her struggle with death was like
The former Miss Universe contestant spoke at length in an interview with People en Español about the conditions that affected her well-being from the moment she came into this world.
“I always say I’m a miracle of God because I was born with congenital torticollis and they had to operate on me when I was 8 months old,” he explained.
Facing the risk that she would die in less than a year because “she wouldn’t be able to resist”, Nadia’s family agreed to an operation that could have caused her “certain problems”.
“My mother made the decision to operate on me and it was a success,” said the wife of the “Deine Liebe tut mich gut” interpreter.

However, the complications never ended. At the age of 10, Nadia began to show signs of damage due to the physical exertion she put in, including playing tennis and cycling.
After two years of treatment, Ferreira was wrongly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. It was a long time before it became known what he really had.
“[Luego] the diagnosis [fue] Susac syndrome, which comes from the same family but can be cured,” he explained what happened.
Despite all the difficult circumstances she went through, she remained positive and did not lose faith that she would make a full recovery.
“From a young age, I said to my mother, ‘I’m fine. I lost sight, hearing and some mobility on the left side [del rostro]but I told him, ‘I’ll be fine, I know I’ll be fine,'” he told the outlet.
Nadia claimed that doctors in Argentina, where she had to move with her family for care, “did many things” to help her get better.
“I was treated by a doctor who specializes in multiple sclerosis. She’s done eye exams, tomography, medication, an endless number of surgeries. I wore glasses for a long time,” he explained.
“Also, after two years of treatment, I finally got my vision and hearing back and [hoy] I’m stronger than ever,” he added.

The Paraguayan businesswoman and the salsa singer are “together practically all day” and have “a wonderful relationship”, so they get along “super well”.

Ferreira didn’t want to reveal his son’s gender but made it clear that the only thing they both want is for him “to be born in the best of health”. “Boy or girl, no matter what God sends us, we are happy,” he said.
