“Storage Wars” star Gunter Nezhoda has died of lung cancer at the age of 67, just six months after being diagnosed.

Nezhoda died in his sleep Tuesday night in Salt Lake City with his youngest son Ricky by his side, his older son and “Storage Wars” collaborator Rene Nezhoda told TMZ.

Rene said Nezhoda was diagnosed with lung cancer in September after smoking for 30 years – but chemotherapy left holes in his lungs.

Nezhoda flew to Utah for emergency surgery to treat his lungs, but medics said there was nothing more they could do for him, Rene said.

In one video, Rene said: “I’m telling you this because I know you guys are connected to my dad.

“My dad was one of those guys on Storage Wars that never really got hate, people just loved him and loved him, including the crew.

“Everyone loved working with my dad so I appreciate the support.

“A lot of people have been asking how my dad is and I just haven’t really talked about anything because we kept it private and we thought he would make a full recovery but unfortunately he didn’t.

“He was 67 years old and all the love you guys showed him and the support he really appreciated.

“And so hopefully he’s up there in heaven with my mom, dancing pain free again.”

Rene said Nezhoda’s son Ricky was with him when he died on Tuesday.

Gunter, who was born in Vienna and then lived in Frankfurt am Main for ten years before moving to Las Vegas in 1990, starred in seven episodes of “Storage Wars” from 2015 to 2019.

He was also a movie star, working on bass with musicians Pat Travers, Leslie West, Michael Schenker, George Lynch and Kevin Dubrow.
