Man suffers accident in Thailand after rope snaps while bungee jumping; see the moment (playback/mothership)
A Hong Kong resident suffered an accident while jumping from a bungee jump in Pattaya, Thailand, which could have ended very badly. The case happened in February of this year but was only brought to light this week by the hk01 news agency. The man, recognized as Mike, was traveling across the country when he decided to pursue the activity in a park and jump from a 100foot platform. However, the elastic cord holding him broke and threw him into a lake.
According to the news outlet, he fainted in the water for a few moments but regained consciousness and swam to the edge of the lake with the help of staff at Pattaya’s Changthai Thappraya Safari and Adventure Park. The boy was then taken to the hospital.
The recording of the moment was made by Mike’s friends and shows the exact moment the rope breaks during the free fall. Regard:

The man was 5 meters from the water when he fell on his head and sustained some injuries. “The pain was so severe that I felt dizzy. Since my arms were outstretched, my armpit area was the most affected,” he told hk01. In addition to the area near his arms, Mike had multiple injuries on the left side of his body, his chest, and eventually got an infection in his lungs from swallowing the lake’s dirty water. See:

According to the Strait Times, bungee jump operator Natthaphon Yokcharoen apologized to the boy this Wednesday (22nd). “Thappraya Safari has been open for seven years and nothing like this has ever happened. All our devices are licensed. I would like to apologize for this incident.”
So far, the park administration has not commented. He did, however, offer compensation of 10,000 baht (about BRL 1,520) but Mike declined as the amount is well below what he spent on medical expenses. He spent three days in a Hong Kong hospital, which cost 220,000 baht (R$33,600), and underwent a CT scan, Xray and MRI.
