Andrea Bocelli rides a horse through New York’s Central Park – 5 years after he fell out of the saddle

Andrea Bocelli was spotted on horseback through New York’s famous Central Park on Thursday.

The blind opera singer, 64, looked confident in the saddle five years after he was flown to hospital after falling from his horse in Italy.

Andrea cut a suave figure in all black with a velvet blazer and a long scarf around her neck.

He was joined by Mrs Veronica, 39, who galloped alongside him on her own stallion and even held out her suitor’s hand.

The duo were led through the park and crowd by leather-clad police officers perched high on their own horses.

Italy’s top tenor, who has been permanently blind since the age of 12, previously told the Chron he learned to ride a horse when he was seven and admitted he loves the “challenge”.

“It’s my culture. I love a challenge,” he admitted. “When I was younger, I made my parents suffer a lot.

“Every day I risk my life. By bike, by horse, in the sea, everywhere. I probably have an angel. A very cautious guardian angel.”

In 2017, after horseback riding in Pisa, Italy, he suffered a nasty fall and hit his head and was immediately rushed to the hospital by helicopter.

After the accident, Andrea reassured his fans by insisting the fall was “banal” and he felt “great”.

He wrote on Twitter: “Dear friends, I want to reassure you and tell you that I feel great: It was just a trivial fall from a horse.”

The famous singer is known for keeping active and has been spotted windsurfing, skiing and in-line skating in the past.
