EPSN presenter Mike Greenburg had a cardiac ablation to correct an irregular heartbeat on Monday and is recovering at home while his wife jokes, “He doesn’t have to do anything… and he’s not great at it!”
Mike Greenburg, host of ESPN’s “Get Up” and “NBA Countdown,” is recovering at home after heart surgery Monday.
His wife Stacy announced the news and posted about his condition on her Twitter account on Thursday.
“For those who are asking, Greeny had a cardiac ablation Monday,” she said. “The recovery is slow, he doesn’t have to do anything and believe me… he’s not great at that!
“We both really appreciate all the nice messages.”
It comes a day after she provided another update on her husband, tweeting a picture of Greenburg, 55, sitting on the sofa at home, with the caption: “Recovery day two. Or, as Greeny calls it, NFL Draft Prep. send help.’

Greenburg appeared to be coming home the day he underwent surgery, as Stacy also tweeted an update on Monday that read, “Thank you to everyone who reached out. Greeny is at home resting and everything went well.
“He’s already lobbying the doctor to keep him on the air if the Aaron Rodgers deal goes through, so that’s a good sign.
“He really appreciates all the nice notes you sent him.”
Cardiac ablation is a procedure to correct an irregular rhythm, and there is currently no known timeframe for Greenburg to return to ESPN.
But he’s a well-known lifelong Jets fan, and having Rodgers move to New York from the Packers could just be the pick-me-up he needs on the road to recovery.
And it could hasten his return to the TV screen.
While Greenburg hasn’t posted about his health on social media, he paid tribute to Knicks hero Willis Reed on Tuesday after it was announced he had passed away.
“There were bigger players than Willis Reed,” he wrote. “There has never been a greater leader.
“Rest in peace, Captain. #Knicks fans will love you ’till the end of time.”
