Finland has been voted the happiest country in the world for the sixth year in a row, according to the World Happiness Report by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network. They say happiness can’t be bought, but can it be learned? The government of the country wants to achieve this with its happiness course, called “Masterclass of Happiness”.
“Finnish luck is a skill. A skill that can be learned. Now we want to share our secrets to a balanced life on the whimsical side. This is where your journey to your inner Finn begins,” says the course text. “In the Masterclass of Happiness, Finnish trainers from different fields share their best practices and methods to find your inner Finn all in the midst of Finnish nature.”
What is the course of Finnish luck?
The Happiness Masterclass takes place between June 12th and 15th, the European summer. During the four course days, the participants live in the middle of nature in a private and luxurious villa at the Kuru Resort in the Lakeland region.

We know it’s hard to define what happiness is, after all it’s a state of mind and a feeling that can be different for each person. But on the masterclass page they try to explain what the course will go through.
“During the four days you will get to know your inner Finn and begin to develop a range of skills that will help you maintain a balanced lifestyle and connection to nature. You will learn topics such as crafts in nature, nourishment for the soul and body, movement in forests and lakes, soothing sounds and music, and the Finnish way of life in general.”
The Lake Region is one of Finland’s most visited regions, with several lakes, nature activities, fantastic landscapes and cabins. No wonder it was chosen by the country’s government to show foreigners how to be happy.
