A 20-year-old man was shot and injured Thursday night in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville neighborhood of Montreal.
It all started around 9:30 p.m. when the Montreal Police Department was alerted to shots being fired on Acadie Boulevard near Dudemaine Street.
According to preliminary findings, suspects in a moving vehicle shot another vehicle before fleeing.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found shell casings on the ground, but could not locate any vehicles or victims, according to SPVM spokesman Jean-Pierre Brabant.
Moments later, 911 called for a 20-year-old man who was seriously injured by a rifle projectile to be taken to a hospital.
At the same time, the police reported a vehicle with bullet holes that was located on the St Roch terrace near the street of the same name in the Parc Extension.
Both scenes have been protected by security perimeters for investigators who will try to better understand what happened.
Agent Barbant said the victim will be picked up by investigators if his health permits.
