Russian political dissident Elvira Vikhareva was poisoned with heavy metal salts: The independent site Meduza reported it, citing laboratory tests Vikhareva underwent after she began showing symptoms. Potassium dichromate, a highly toxic and carcinogenic substance, was found in Vikhareva’s blood, according to the website. The poisoning happened several months ago.
