Shocking doorbell footage has captured the moment two thieves steal a $2,500 gray parrot outside its owner’s home.
A red SUV is filmed pulling up in front of the Orange County home in Santa Ana and double parking.
Then a gray-hooded figure gets out of the car and snatches the large cage housing the bird named Luna from the front cage.
His friend helps him load the cage into the vehicle before he drives off.
The parrot’s owners are now urgently asking for help to reclaim the expensive bird.

A Facebook post by Abigail Ayapantecatl reads: “PLEASE SHARE! We’re trying to find the thieves who stole my brother’s gray parrot.
“It happened in Orange County, Santa Ana. Our parrot is sick and needs medication every day.
“She was outside in her cage for some air as she is an indoor bird and these two men took her in seconds.
“My brother tried to chase them, but they drove down quickly.”
She added: “Mainly towards Warner. I have attached photos of these people. No license plates on her red SUV. We’ve filed a police report, but we need everyone’s help to get the word out. We are devastated, we just want our parrot back.”
The family has owned Luna for more than ten years.

The theft occurred on March 12 in the 2000 block of S. Sycamore Street in Santa Ana, a spokeswoman for the Santa Ana Police Department told NBC.
The first male suspect is described as stocky and possibly in his 40s.
He was wearing a dark gray hoodie, gray gloves and a light gray sweater.
Meanwhile, the second suspect, also a man, wore a brown bucket hat, black hoodie and dark pants.
Her getaway vehicle is believed to be a Ford Excursion.
African gray parrots are extremely valuable and can cost anywhere from $1,500 to $4,000.
Their most unusual trait is their ability to mimic human speech.
They have an average lifespan of 50 years.
