Dick Van Dyke is on the mend after suffering minor injuries in a car crash earlier this month.

The 97-year-old beamed as he carpooled with his wife Arlene Silver, 51, in the first pictures since his car crash, obtained by the DailyMail.

Despite his perky demeanor, the actor sported stitches on his chin. However, he found that he had made an almost full recovery.

“I’m fine, I just have sore sores all over the place,” he told Dad on Friday. “The airbags didn’t deploy so I just had a face plant right in the steering wheel and it just made me a little bit dumber.”

He then joked that he was “fine” because he was 97 and all his “friends were dead.”

For his outing, the entertainer wore a black and gray long-sleeved shirt, which he paired with gray jeans, black shoes and his wedding ring.

On March 15, TMZ reported that Van Dyke was driving his Lexus LS 500 in Malibu, California, when rainy weather conditions caused his vehicle to skid before crashing into a gate.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Van Dyke behind the wheel of his car, where he was later treated by paramedics for his minor injuries.

At the time, the “Mary Poppins” star was left with a bloody mouth and nose and a possible concussion.

However, he reportedly turned down an offer to go to a local hospital and instead went home with a friend to pick him up.

Although the outlet reported that officials said drugs and alcohol were not involved in Van Dyke’s accident, authorities submitted documents to the DMV urging the film and television star to retake his driving test, apparently because of his age.

Almost 10 years ago, Van Dyke escaped unhurt after his Jaguar caught fire on a Los Angeles freeway.

At the time, officials said witnesses reported the blazes and said an elderly man bent behind the wheel of the fiery car.

Spectator Jason Pennington helped Van Dyke out of the burning vehicle.

“I’m all ‘you gotta get out, you gotta get out,’ and he’s like, ‘I’m fine, I’m fine,'” Pennington told CBS Los Angeles. “Well, I just pulled him really hard.”

After the August 2013 crash, Van Dyke tweeted a photo of his burned vehiclejoking: “Used Jag for sale REALLY CHEAP!!”
