Airline Suspends Pilots After Having Lunch On Plane

An innocent cup of coffee between pilots at the controls of one Airplane (Cockpit) may seem harmless, but the practice is a serious security breach. A case like this prompted an airline to suspend two pilots who ate a snack on the plane at 11,000 meters.

More details of the controversial case follow.

After snacking in the cockpit, the pilots received a suspension from the airline

Flight safety regulations in most countries require pilots to remain fully alert throughout the flight. Since they are constantly transporting people, i.e. life, through the air, any distraction of the pilots can trigger a disaster.

As such, eating in the cockpit is a practice vehemently banned by airlines to protect crew safety.

However, two pilots from Indian airline SpiceJet flouted safety regulations and simply opted for a quick snack in the cockpit.

Pilots snack in the cockpit

The company’s Boeing 737 flew at an altitude of 11,000 meters from Delhi to Guwahati, both Indian cities. However, the most unusual fact of the route was a simple snack for the pilots.

In the cockpit, the pros snapped a photo of the moment they appeared to be snacking on two pastries and a cup of coffee. As already mentioned, the presence of food in the cockpit, as well as drinks, is illegal. If there is a cup, it must have a lid, which is not the case with the pilots’ coffee cup, as you can see in publication:

The pilots were suspended by the airline following the negative impact of the incident. The image quickly spread across the social mediawhich is causing concern among Internet users.

However, SpiceJet did not provide any information on the duration of the suspension, nor any information on training and special training for pilots. However, a company spokesman said appropriate disciplinary action would be taken against employees once the investigation into the case is complete.
