Strictly speaking Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice turn down

Strictly speaking, Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice turn down a wild “second best” dig at Saturday Kitchen

Strictly Come Dancing’s Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice graciously brushed aside a wild dig during an appearance on Saturday Kitchen.

The professional dancers had joined presenter Matt Tebutt on the BBC daytime show to talk about their new series Anton and Giovanni’s Adventures in Sicily.

The pair, however, were attacked with a cheeky dig at Matt when he joined wine expert Ollie Smith in pitching Anton and Giovanni as “the second best bromance on TV” – while gesturing that they were the best themselves.

Matt said: “We had a rollercoaster ride of the show with that crowd in the studio. Literally anything could happen because this is Saturday Kitchen Live

“Today’s special guests delivered some of the most memorable Strictly moments of all time, but they traded the ballroom for Sicily in the second best bromance on TV – please welcome Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice.”

A startled Anton, 56, and Giovanni, 32, then looked at each other and said, “Next best?” while the crowd around them cheered.

To which Matt replied, “Second best, my friends,” while patting Ollie’s chest, to which Ollie then added, “But what constitutes a bromance, that’s the question?”

Apparently unimpressed at being placed second best, Giovanni then gestured at Matt and Ollie and asked, “Is that first?” to which they both responded, “Yeah yeah yeah.”

Anton defended his bromance, then cheekily remarked, “You can’t be second best if you haven’t seen her in her Budgie Smugglers.”

To which Matt said of the dancers, “We have,” while Anton confirmed, “We spend a lot of time together in Speedos.”

After laughing at Matt’s cheeky dig, the pair went on to talk at length about their travel show, which first aired on March 21 as part of the cooking show.

Speaking further about his friendship with Giovanni, Anton said: “The show is about our relationship, that’s what came across to me.

“I saw the first show with Hannah the other night and I got a warm feeling from it. It was a nice kind of show of us together.’

The Strictly dancer-turned-judge added, “The shows will grow over the next few weeks but without spoiling it, we’re having a lot of fun with it.”

Referring to her earlier bromance joke, Ollie then chimed in: “It’s a bromance. It’s a real deal, excellent bromance.’

The Italian Adonis Giovanni replies: “There is a lot of love.”

His pal echoed the sentiment, then gushed: “There’s a lot of love. I love him above everything else.”

It comes after Giovanni left fans hot under the collar as he stripped down to his towel on his new travel show with Anton on Tuesday.

Strictly Come Dancing pro Giovanni and show judge Anton left the UK to visit Giovanni’s native Italy for Giovanni And Anton: Adventures In Sicily on BBC One, which was broadcast on BBC One.

Sparkling star Giovanni was seen giving Anton on a tour of the island he grew up on, Sicily, with the two checking into a gorgeous hotel during their stay.

And when Anton went to meet Giovanni the morning after their arrival, Giovanni opened the door to his room, wearing only a white towel.
