In his speech at the XXVIII. At the Ibero-American summit of heads of state and government in the Dominican Republic, the representative of Nicaragua criticized Washington’s inclusion of the Caribbean island in the arbitrary list of countries that support terrorism.
In this sense, Moncada called on the US government to remove Cuba from this list “because it is a total lie” and opposed the imposition of unilateral punitive and coercive measures against Venezuela and his country.
He alluded to the pressure against Bolivia and other sister countries, citing the British occupation of the Malvinas Islands, which he said belong to Argentina.
He advocated continued support for Puerto Rico to fully exercise its self-determination, national sovereignty and independence, and to recognize the efforts made and resolutions passed by the United Nations Special Committee on Decolonization.
The head of Nicaraguan diplomacy expressed that the attacks, unilateral measures or sanctions make it difficult to walk together in a fair and sustainable Iberoamerica.
