Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is expecting first child with longtime girlfriend Erin Darke

Daniel Radcliffe and longtime girlfriend Erin Darke are expecting their first child together, a rep for the Harry Potter star confirmed to Fox News Digital.

The 33-year-old actor and 38-year-old actress began dating in 2012 after meeting on the set of 2013 biographical drama Kill Your Darlings, in which Radcliffe played poet Allen Ginsberg.

“We met on the set of ‘Kill Your Darlings’ and hit it off right away,” the Brit told Parade magazine in 2014.

He continued, “It was one of those instantaneous things where you’re like, ‘Oh, I really like this person.’ You just connect with someone, and suddenly it’s incredibly easy to talk to them. That was one of those situations.”

Radcliffe and the Michigan native worked together again when she appeared on his PBS comedy series Miracle Workers in the show’s third season in 2021.

“We definitely like it [working together], but it’s not something we want to do all the time,” he told People magazine in March 2022. Hopefully we’ll do more in the future, but we both write too, so maybe we’ll write something together at some point, and that would be cool.”

The Broadway actor added, “I have a really beautiful life. I’ve been with my girlfriend for almost exactly a decade. We are really happy.”

The couple keeps a low profile for the most part, but they did appear together for the premiere of Radcliffe’s film, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2022.

Last October, Radcliffe told Entertainment Weekly he was concerned about how Darke’s parents would react to his portrayal of Weird Al because they are big fans of the comedian.

“Actually after that [director] Eric [Appel] and Al [Yankovic]the people whose reaction I worry about the most are probably my in-laws,” Radcliffe said.

“Erin’s father and brother because they’re big fans too. Erin has seen the film, but I’d be interested to know what Ian thinks. I really hope he likes him.”

In an interview with Newsweek last year, Radcliffe and his Weird: The Al Yankovic Story co-star Evan Rachel Wood shared their thoughts on growing up as child stars.

Radcliffe, who started acting at age 10 and landed his starring role in Harry Potter at age 12, said he “don’t want fame for my kid.”

“I want my kids, if and when they exist, … I would love them to be around movie sets,” he told the outlet. “One dream would be if they walk onto a movie set and say, ‘God, you know, I’d like to be in the art department. I would like to be part of the crew.’ Part of it, but not of it.”
