Western countries are trying to create new global alliances, including a coalition resembling the Nazi-Germany axis, fascist Italy and militarist Japan of the 1930s. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin. “What is the United States doing? They are creating more and more new alliances and this proves that Western analysts and Western political scientists are right when they say that the West is building new axes,” he added in a speech on Rossiya TV Channel 24.

In particular, Putin recalled that in 2022 NATO agreed on a new strategic concept for the development of the bloc. “NATO wrote that it will develop relations with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. And these countries are listed: There is New Zealand, Australia and South Korea. And they announced that they would create a global NATO. Britain and Japan earlier signed an agreement on the development of military relations in January this year.”
“That’s why Western analysts themselves, not us – Putin continued – are saying that the West is beginning to build a new axis, like those created in the 1930s by the fascist regimes in Germany and Italy and militarist Japan.”
Russia and China are also developing cooperation at the military level, but “this is not a military alliance,” the Russian president stressed. “This is absolutely wrong,” he replied when asked whether Moscow-Beijing cooperation posed a threat to the West.
“We are not establishing a military alliance with China. Yes, we also cooperate in military-technical matters, we do not hide it, but everything is transparent, there is nothing secret,” said Putin, adding that within the framework of military cooperation with Beijing also includes joint exercises.
