Prince Charles will reportedly lend his younger brother Prince Andrew a large sum of money to help cover the cost of a multimillion-dollar sexual assault lawsuit settlement.
Charles, 73, agreed to pay most of the compensation to Andrew Virginia Roberts Giuffre, with the Queen also contributing some, The Sun reports.
The settlement, reached last month by the Duke of York, 62, and Giuffre, 38, was between $9 million and $12 million.
Andrew has repeatedly denied Giuffre’s claims that pedophile Jeffrey Epstein forced her to have “disgusting” sex with the royals three times, starting in 2001 when she was 17 years old.
A source told The Sun that Andrew will pay his family when he sells his ski chalet in Switzerland for around $22.5 million.
The report says Andrew has been forced to rely on loans as the money from the settlement is due in just 10 days, while selling his ski chalet could take two months.
“He doesn’t have the income or money to pay off the bank loan, so family is the only way to guarantee payment,” a family friend told The Sun.
The settlement between Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre was reported to be between $9 million and $12 million.
