Hockey: a 50th goal for David Pastrnak

Connor McDavid is not alone anymore. David Pastrnak broke the 50-goal mark in a game between the Boston Bruins and the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday.

The Czech star had never accomplished the feat since his pro debut. He still got his hands on the 2019-2020 Maurice Richard Trophy after threading the needle 48 times in 70 duels.

At the same time, Pastrnak accumulated his 600th career point in his 583rd game at the Bettman Circuit.

The last player to score 50 goals in a season with the Bruins is Cam Neely. He had reached this plateau in 1993-1994.

Pastrnak escaped against the “Canes” in the first third and was hooked by defenseman Brent Burns. The puck then gently slid between Frederik Andersen’s pads.

As well as wingers Bruins and McDavid, Mikko Rantanen (48 goals), Leon Draisaitl (45), Brayden Point (45) and Tage Thompson (44) could also join the exclusive 50-goal club.
