EXCLUSIVE: Kyle Sandilands reveals he was with John Ibrahim when his brother Fadi was shot five times – as radio star prepares to appear on Last King of the Cross season 2
Kyle Sandilands will appear in Season 2 of the Paramount+ series Last King of the Cross.
The radio star’s longtime friend John Ibrahim, 54, was by his side when Kings Cross impersonator Fadi’s brother was brutally gunned down in 2009.
Fadi, the second youngest of four Ibrahim brothers, was shot five times by an unknown assailant while in a Lamborghini with his girlfriend Shayda Bastani, who was also shot once in the thigh.
Last King of the Cross follows John’s rise to power in the Kings Cross nightclub scene in the ’90s and early 2000s, and season two will include a scene depicting the filming.
Speaking exclusively to Chron Australia, Kyle said John, who is also the series’ executive producer, recently asked if he was happy to be introduced as a character.

‘ I said, ‘I don’t give a shit unless I’m a shit [portrayed as] a fat dwarf toad’. I said “Be kind…no George Costanza”. He said, “Brother, I’ll take care of you,” Kyle joked.
‘He reminded me when his brother Fadi and his wife were shot five times in the Lambo [Shayda] I hit him in the leg, I was with him when he got the call,” he added.
Kyle said he would like to be played by the likes of Chris Hemsworth and plans to audition in person.

Fadi and his now-wife Shayda were parked outside their home in Sydney’s Castle Cove on June 5, 2009 when they were attacked by a gunman during an overnight ambush.
He was hit in the arm, chest and stomach while Shayda was shot in the leg when the gun was fired through the car window.
Fadi, then 35, was placed in an induced coma for three weeks before being woken up.
Both Fadi and Shayda survived the attack, although Fadi struggled with ongoing health issues as a result of his injuries.
