After training on the main Challenger 2 main battle tanks in Great Britain, Ukrainian soldiers are on their way to the front. “It is truly inspiring to see the determination of Ukrainian soldiers who completed their training in British Challenger 2 tanks on British soil,” said British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace, according to a statement released today.
“They go home better equipped, but no less threatened. We will continue to support them and do everything we can to support Ukraine for as long as necessary.” The Defense Ministry said the training was completed.
This included how Challenger crews work together and are commanded, and how targets are effectively identified and engaged. In January, Britain was the first country to announce the delivery of tanks to Ukraine, pressuring allies such as Germany to send tanks. In total London is supplying 14 Challenger 2s.
